The pins are already double sealed at the back of the connector, and the connector seals the front when plugged in. Main thing that does is strain relieve the wires. If this was something that was being handled of flexed regularly, it'd definitely be a good idea. Or if it was to be mounted in a fender well where frequent direct water splashing was expected it'd further help keep water out. Since it's mounted out of the way of water/spray even under pretty torrential conditions and essentially stays fixed in place, it's probably an unnecessary cost and labor addition for Brett that won't improve things for the user much.
